Information Security at Cloudflare is a focused team committed to helping secure both Cloudflare and our customers. The Detection and Response team is responsible for engineering the systems and programs needed to protect our company and customer from real world threats.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. Software engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for building our next generation SIEM on Cloudflare's edge to secure Cloudflare products and infrastructure. You’ll be designing and building services to; ingest and manage large datasets, process streaming and batch analytics, enrich and alert on data throughout the pipelines, and incorporate Machine Learning as an integral aspect of the whole system.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• Deep understanding of SIEM, UEBA, and SOAR technologies from an implementers perspective

• Experience designing, and optimizing high throughput ETL pipelines

• Understand strategies for large scale streaming and batch log analysis

• Proficiency in programming in Golang or Java

• Experience in building highly available distributed systems

• Familiarity in continuous integration and Infrastructure as Code

Bonus Points

• Experience building robust and scalable products in public clouds (GCP or AWS)


• Experience with CI/CD and a devops mindset


• Familiarity with Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies


• Experience with cloud serverless architectures like Cloudflare Workers, Lambda Functions or Cloud Functions


• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes


• Familiarity writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries


• Experience productionizing Machine Learning models
