We provide access to Rakuten Mobile’s network design combining virtualization and automation, so that customers can purchase and deploy their network wherever they are in the world. This is a senior engineer position for leading container platform deployment of Rakuten Mobile Network’s nation-wide Cloud infrastructure. The candidate should be able to lead, improve and maintain the implementation of container platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Fault & Performance Management: Manage availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for the application layers using a variety of in-house toolsets. Site Reliability and Break-fix Restorations: Ensure all-time platform availability by way of all faults Identification & rectification - proactively / reactively. Maintain platform service and tenant workload uptimes once they are live by monitoring availability, latency, and overall platform health. Change Management: Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement. Ensure all changes & upgrades on platform go seamless without disruption of service. Deploy automation for efficiency & accuracy of implementation. Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery: Support services before they go live through activities such as Engineering design reviews, quality assurance testing, capacity planning, and launch reviews. Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. REQUIREMENTS Technical graduation Required Skills: 4+ years of experience in maintaining large clusters using configuration tools such as: Docker, Kubernetes Design & implement Kubernetes based software that can be deployed as pods, jobs, deployment, services, ingress, etc. 1+ years experience architecting and managing large Kubernetes clusters. Knowledge on basics of container network and storage integration Knowledge on container software and ecosystem (Kubernetes, Docker, Calico, Istio/Envoy) Good knowledge in installing, configuring and maintaining the Linux servers and workstations. Experience with DevOps tool chains such as Docker, Gitlab CI, Jenkins, Git. Experience with Infrastructure monitoring tools such as Grafana, ELK, Splunk etc. Proficient in any one of the scripting language (Python, Bash) Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and to analyze logs. Demonstrates an extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently and the ability to work well with remote team members Teamwork and excellent communication skills.s. Preferred Qualification RHEL, CCNA, AWS/Azure Professional Certifications, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) / Developer (CKAD) / Security (CKS) Preferred/Optional Skills: Bachelors/master’s degree in computer science or related fields. Experience in operation of container platform Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., CloudFormation or Terraform) Experience with provisioning software such as Ansible.
