Scope Ratings is looking for commercial real estate analysts across various seniority levels (from entry-level to associate director). These are critical roles to support the rapid growth of the largest European credit rating agency in the commercial real estate sector. The roles offer a variety of responsibilities along with opportunities to grow in an international team and get extensive exposure within the group. The location can be based in Germany (either in Berlin or Frankfurt). Your tasks & responsibilities Depending on your seniority level your role is to supervise, lead, or provide support across all stages and levels of Scope Ratings’ analytical processes, including: Acting as lead rating analyst on new ratings and on monitoring existing ratings on commercial real estate loans and CMBS Performing asset, counterparty, and structural credit analysis, as well as cash flow modeling and documentation review Taking part in analytical operational reviews and property site visits throughout Europe and maintaining relationships with market participants Preparing, presenting, and discussing all relevant analyses in front of Scope’s rating committees Writing detailed transaction reports Monitoring and analyzing market trends and monitoring market developments in European commercial real estate and publishing timely, high-quality, insightful research Developing Scope’s analytical capabilities and rating methodologies Represent Scope structured finance franchise internally and externally Conduct discussions with clients, investors, the media, and other market participants; as well as give presentations and briefings at a highly professional level Your professional qualifications 3-10 years of professional experience in performing credit analysis on CRE loans or CMBS in an advisory, investment, or credit rating agency analysis role Experience with analyzing, valuing, servicing, structuring, lending, or investing in real estate properties across multiple European jurisdictions Advanced business or engineering degree with courses concentrating in real estate, valuation, finance, economics, statistics, or business administration Strong analytical skills with a sound understanding and culture of the European CRE market, the financial markets, and credit fundamentals Strong MS office computer skills and comfortable working with complex and disparate datasets; knowledge of Python, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus CFA, CAIA, FRM, RICS, or similar certification is a plus High commitment to building and developing the largest European credit rating agency Team player with excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills Multi-cultural, collaborative, self-starter, out-of-the-box thinker, versatile, inquisitive, opinionated, and detail-oriented personality with strong problem-solving skills Accountable and dynamic with the ability to work in full autonomy on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Fluent in English and German is a must or other European language skills are pluses Permission to live and work in the European Union.
