Scientific Director Immunology – Research Applications (m|f|d)

As part of Miltenyi Biotec’s R&D department you are heading a group bringing scientific research and drug discovery workflows in the area of immunology to the academic and biopharma markets. These applications incorporate innovative technologies such as from the field of magnetic cell separation and lab automation systems. The tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• responsibility from strategic development to implementation and management of respective project portfolios


• accountability for resource management, organization, and alignment of the group to serve the company’s top goals


• maintaining close collaboration with other R&D groups and across departments, e.g. with marketing, engineering, and production teams


• sustaining regular dialogue with external key partners and proactively and continually expanding our network of collaborators in academia and biopharma

• PhD / PostDoc training and deep expertise in immunology and disease biology


• Proven leader of scientific and/or drug discovery programs with several years of experience, preferentially in pharma/biotech industry


• Demonstrated exceptional ability to manage teams, identify and develop talents, and delegate effectively


• Creative, goal-orientated, and able to work independent, but at the same time interdisciplinary fashion, and open to new challenges


• Excellent communications skills and track record of successful experience in KOL management
