The Regional Sales and Business Development Manager, Data Centers , with be directly responsible for growing Armstrong’s data center sector sales and brand awareness, by actively pursuing target accounts (End-user, Consultants, Contractors), leading business development and sales strategy execution, working closely with Regional Sales Team, creating and managing dc project pipeline, and directly engaging with industry sector key players and influencers. This position is in France/Germany and requires regular travel to France, Holland, and other countries in Continental Europe where data center end-users and decision makers are active. May also require travel to the UK. In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are: Business Development and Sales Execution Grow Armstrong’s Data Center Business in CE with target market and account coverage, mainly in Germany, Amsterdam and France. Achieve the annual budget for bookings, sales, margins and specific Armstrong metrics. Lead business development and sales strategy execution to further build the dc opportunity pipeline and improve overall win rate. Create and present monthly pipeline activity reports, monthly sales forecasts/updates and evolving target account lists and activities (i.e. Key Account Plans). Work closely with Regional Sales team to identify new accounts and participate in opportunity negotiations. Additionally, work with consultants in plan and specification work alongside the Armstrong Technical Support team. Prepare proposals as required and coordinate with the Armstrong RSEC Team when necessary. Support Marketing and gathering of market intelligence on Armstrong competitors’ capabilities; report and recommend action plans. Manage Project Delivery Manage and coordinate internal project teams and all involved project stakeholders. Communicate with customer through to delivery date. Represent Armstrong in Industry Attend and participate in trade show exhibitions & conferences. Lead active engagement with industry sector key players and influencers. Maintain contacts with key complimentary sales organizations. Role Requirements Bachelor of Engineering degree A minimum of 5 years data center sector sales experience focused on HVAC and/or related industries, ideally with specialized knowledge on data center and mission critical infrastructure. Strong inter-personal and persuasive skills with well-established network and strong reputation within the data center industry. Strong communication in German and English; French is a plus. Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures) Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations. Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a focus on results. Able to travel extensively – estimated travel is a minimum 50% of the time. Experience in tracking customer sales information, forecasts and reports using software applications such as CRM. Creative problem-solving skills, technical/professional knowledge and skill, and ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way.
