In order to help us to continue on our journey, we are looking for a chemical market expert with strong engagement skills and a strategic mindset to lead ICIS’ market development in European chemical markets. You will support our European commercial teams with your deep market expertise, and lead on all aspects of market development, including the identification of key areas of opportunity, areas of risk, formulation of strategies for developing the market segment, and engaging with key decision-makers and influencers in the market. To succeed in the role, you will maintain a deep network in the market and have a strong understanding of our customers, their strategic objectives and challenges. This is a diverse role and no two days will be alike. The role has a wide scope of responsibility and cross-functional touch points. Key Accountabilities: Formulate and execute on strategies for developing keys areas of the ICIS European chemical markets business together with cross-functional colleagues, leading with your strong customer understanding Support ICIS on our journey to being a strategic partner to our clients and key prospects and work to embed ICIS products in customer workflows, creating a deep understanding of customer strategy. Identify strategic new business opportunities taking ICIS into new markets and geographies all the time developing a firm understanding of key areas of opportunity, including what problems we solve for prospects, how to message around them and creating curiosity Partner with marketing to identify and produce thought-leadership relevant to the target market segments that showcases relevant ICIS insight and drives engagement Engage senior level users, influencers and decision-makers to stimulate demand, demonstrate ICIS expertise and significantly grow account value and customer satisfaction Build a strong profile for ICIS in the market by attending and presenting at events, working through associations, government representatives and your own network Develop relationships with non-industry market players, e.g. potential partners, M&A targets and exchanges in close collaboration with ICIS Strategy team to drive success in key strategic opportunities Skills and Behaviors Previous experience in the chemicals market preferably in a commercial function A strong track record of driving growth and new business to exceed financial and other business objectives Experienced in working cross-functionally to create high performance organisations Well versed in creating, developing and executing strategies to maximise market opportunities Extensive experience of C level commercial interactions Passionate about a world-class customer experience Proven track record of customer-centricity as well as in exceeding objectives and financial goals Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form and ability to collaborate, influence and manage remotely to work with other business functions and geographies Curious about everything, willing to ask questions and challenge the status quo in order to provide better customer, employee and business outcomes A driven, passionate, motivated individual At ICIS, we are a team that thrives on innovation and collaboration in a diverse and inclusive culture.
